Time for change

Yes, Americans!
Yes, you can!

Yes Obama in the new president of the USA...

A wind of change is coming =)

French people wasn't really feeling that american people were their friends, bu I think now most of us ar seeing USA differently... Like most of the european population.

We watched this election as if we were americans, that was absolutly crazy. We all were hoping that Obama would we elected, that Mc Cain would fail...
For us, Mc Cain meant that the american foreign politic would be the same than the Georges Bush's one. For us, it means war in Irak, invasion of Afghanistan, propaganda for fear of terrorism (and against Russia in the probleme between Russia and Georgia), and make the american population that all the other peopulation in the world are stupid (that's a summerise of the idea).

I think I'll always remember that day. In the morning of the 7th (for us), we all were checking who won this election. I watched BBC World and CNN, somme others checked on the internet...

This event has been historical, as the September 11th. I'll remember it as easily as the 11th, but in a positive way.

We don't support Obama because he's black, but because he's got a new brand point of view on the USA, and on the world.
The fact that he's black is just another positiv thing about Obama.
And the fact that he was elected is showing that american population is changing.

Some people think that that won't change anything. I guess there will always be some pessimists in this world, especially in France ...

Now, we can hope.

Yes, you did it.

Whoot! While I am happy with the way the presidential election turned out, Obama has a VERY tough road ahead of him. As much as Americans believe in liberty, I think we are deathly afraid of change. We still saw legislation passed that was directly aimed at limiting the rights of gay people with this past election. That should also be a reminder to many that legislation at the state level is what effects most people's lives on a daily basis. Change in the American political system is slow and takes lots of work. Personally, I do not view Obama as the savior of American politics, but it will be interesting to see what course America takes with Obama in the White House.
